🔹 No Smoking Day is observed on Second Wednesday of March (11 March)

No Smoking Day is observed every year on the second Wednesday of March to raise awareness about the harmful health effects of tobacco via smoking and to encourage people all over the world to quit smoking.


🔹 Tirath Singh Rawat sworn-in as Uttarakhand's new CM

Tirath Singh Rawat was sworn-in as the new chief minister of Uttarakhand. He was administered the oath of office by Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya at Raj Bhawan in Dehradun. 


🔹 IOCL, IDCO signs MoU to develop Paradip Plastic Park in Odisha

Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation will jointly set up a state-of-the-art plastic park in Paradeep in Odisha. A shareholder agreement, signed yesterday in the virtual presence of the Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik and Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, seeks to develop the project as the first fully operational plastic park in the country.


🔹 UP govt launches campaign to make golden cards of Ayushman Bharat scheme

The Uttar Pradesh government launched a campaign to make golden cards of Ayushman Bharat scheme across the state. Our Correspondent reports that the campaign aims to drive awareness about Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) across state and enable beneficiaries, especially those residing in the rural and remote areas, to avail cashless healthcare worth Rs. 5 lakh per family per year.


🔹 Union Cabinet approves PMSSN as a single non-lapsable reserve fund

The Union Cabinet approved the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Nidhi (PMSSN) as a single non-lapsable reserve fund for share of Health from the proceeds of Health and Education Cess levied under Finance Act, 2007.The major benefit of PMSSN will be enhanced access to universal and  affordable health care through availability of earmarked resources, while ensuring that the amount does not lapse at the end of financial year.


🔹 France launches first military exercises in space

France launched its first military exercise in space this week to evaluate its ability to defend its satellites and other defense equipment from an attack. Michel Friedling, the head of France's newly created Space Command said the exercises are a "stress-test of their systems. He said that they were a first for the French army and even a first in Europe. The exercise, codenamed "AsterX" in memory of the first French satellite from 1965, will be based on 18 simulated events in an operations room.


🔹 Axis Bank launches contactless payment wearable devices starting at Rs750

Axis Bank has launched a range of wearable contactless payment devices under the brand Wear ‘N’ Pay. These devices come in different forms of wearables like band, key chain and watch loop and are available starting at Rs750. A customer needs to wave the wearable at a point of sale (PoS) machine at merchant outlets for transactions up to Rs5,000. Beyond this, a PIN is required to complete the transaction


🔹 WCD Ministry signs agreement with Invest India in New Delhi to enhance cooperation

Union Ministry of Women and Child Development today signed an agreement with Invest India in New Delhi to enhance cooperation. The aim of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is to enhance co-operation in the thematic areas of Nutrition, Child Protection and Development, Women Empowerment and convergent capacity building in mission mode.


🔹 Wipro appoints Pierre Bruno as CEO for Europe business

Information Technology services major Wipro has appointed Pierre Bruno as Chief Executive Officer for Europe. Bruno will lead Wipro’s business in six distinct regions across Europe. In Europe, Wipro operates in six regions, comprising UK & Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Nordics, Benelux and Southern Europe
